Most business coaching starts with a pitch. Ours starts with a question: what’s actually happening in your business right now, not the version you tell people at networking events.

I built and ran a managed services company for sixteen years before I sold it in 2022. I didn’t inherit a system, I built one from scratch, made every mistake that comes with that, and eventually got it running well enough that someone else wanted to buy it. That’s not a credential I picked up in a weekend certification. It’s the same ground you’re standing on right now: hiring problems, cash flow pressure, the pull between working in the business and building it.

What Actually Makes This Different

That’s the difference between Being In Action and most coaching you’ll find in Phoenix. We don’t sell motivation or hand you a framework and wish you luck. We work from a simple belief: every result you’re getting is being produced by a system, and if the result isn’t what you want, there’s a constraint somewhere in that system creating it. Our job isn’t to guess at solutions. It’s to find the real constraint, get clear on what actually has to change, and make sure it gets done.

Here’s what that looks like in practice. Most business owners come to us saying they need more leads, more employees, or more revenue. Almost none of those are the actual problem. “I need more leads” is usually a weak offer or a broken follow-up process. “I need more employees” is usually missing systems and unclear ownership. We trace the problem upstream until we find what’s actually limiting you, because the right solution to the wrong problem still leaves you stuck.

What This Looks Like in Practice

A landscaping company owner came to us certain his problem was leads. Not enough calls coming in. When we actually looked at his numbers, the calls were there, plenty of them. The problem showed up two steps later: half of his estimates never got a response after the initial quote, and he had no follow-up process at all beyond hoping people would call back.

He didn’t need more marketing spend. He needed a simple, consistent follow-up sequence for quotes that had gone quiet, and honestly, he needed to fix the estimate itself, which buried the price on page three behind two pages of boilerplate nobody read. Once those two things changed, his close rate on existing lead volume nearly doubled, without spending another dollar getting more people to call. The lead problem was never a lead problem. It just looked like one from the surface.

Built on the Same Standard You’re Building To

I also hold the Certified Exit Planning Advisor credential, one of the most rigorous designations in business advisory. It’s not about selling your business. It’s about building one that’s worth something: structurally sound, financially clear, and not dependent on you to function. Whether you’re five years out from an exit or have no plans to ever sell, that’s the same standard we build to.

If something feels like it should be working better than it is, that’s usually the first sign a constraint is sitting somewhere underneath the surface problem. The fastest way to find it is a real conversation, not a sales call. If you want a structured version of that diagnostic before we ever talk, take the free Constraint Assessment, or read how we think about diagnosing the actual constraint versus the stated one in our piece on the BIA Growth Engine.
